I received a free eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The story follows Maggie McShay in modern-day New York City. She lives a plain and boring life but an odd ad in the newspaper has her wishing for adventure. She responds to the ad which is looking for a caretaker for a fairy tale cottage. She takes the job and quickly finds out that magic is real and that she may be more connected to this world than she could have dreamed! She quickly collects an odd group of friends that must take on bigger and bigger tasks. The fate of the realm of fairy tales as well as the “real” world are at stake!

Likes: This was a charming read! I liked the main character and the way the fairy tale realm works. I also found some of the problems and solution to be quite funny and fun to read.

Recommended for: This is a good read for those who like fairy tales and retellings. I’d recommend it to YA and up!
